Cedar Winds Farm is a small, privately owned hobby farm located in Wisconsin. We are expecting a planned litter of Australian Cattle Dog puppies the third week of May. We have a waiting list started, so if you are interested in these pups, please contact us and we can add you to our contact list.

The dam of the litter is our girl, Dakota. She is a beautiful blue heeler with the most wonderful temperment. She has passed on this temperment to her puppies and they have been great additions to many families and farms. Dakota has been through many obedience training classes and has earned her CGC through the AKC and has also tested and passed as a TDI therapy dog.

The sire of the litter is a red heeler, Bandit. He resides at a neighboring farm where he is a working cattle dog. He assists the farmer with his dairy cows and is a wonderful farm dog with a great personality.

Dakota and her 2010 Heeler Puppies

This litter is a repeat breeding of the sire and dam. Their previous litter was born in August 2008 and pictures of those puppies can be seen here: Dakota's 2008 Litter. Dakota also had a litter in January 2007, pictures from that litter are here: Dakota's 2007 litter.

We spend a lot of time with our puppies to ensure that they leave here well socialized and loving everyone they meet. They are introduced to many things including children, "strangers," crates, other dogs, and other animals. They are introduced to as many things as possible, outlined by the Puppy Rule of 7.

As with all breeds, this breed is not for everyone. We highly recommend that you do your research on this wonderful breed before considering them. Though they are wonderful dogs, they aren't good for everyone, or for every situation. This breed is very active, both physically and mentally. They definitely need a job to do, whether that be working livestock, or work through training classes, they need to be kept busy and on task. They also need to be well socialized with both other dogs, and people. We strongly recommend that puppies are enrolled in puppy and/or obedience classes to develop a well socialized dog.

We work hard to make sure our puppies are placed in appropriate homes where they will be allowed to meet their potential as a great dog. We will have a series of questions for potential owners so we can determine if the home will be a good match for one of our puppies. We are dedicated to the well-being of our puppies for the rest of their lives. We are always here to answer any questions and have formed many relationships with the owners of our puppies.

When our puppies are ready to go to their new homes they will have their dew claws removed, be dewormed, and have their first shots. We do not let any puppy leave until they are 8 weeks old.
